Lettering and Type
Various lettering and custom typography. Some have been formalized into Glyphs files while others live in an in-between state.
Circlet
A geometric hand-drawn rounded sans serif font. Drawn using a circular illustration stencil for architectural renderings, the font is rife with inconsistencies that make it suitable for on-the-fly ligatures, overlap, and play. Circlet situates within the thinking of renner-esque offerings, with a crude twist.
Interview
Logo/Masthead lettering for the 2018 relaunch. The proportions are more based on the 90s version, executed with sumi ink and brush. Unedited sketches/attempts below in gif form.
Morgan Tiling
An homage to the Morgan L's iconic in-station/on-pole tiling. This character set is created using tiling forms sourced only from a single sign spelling "MORGAN AVE." Each character from the original lockup is included as-is, the rest being created from extracted and adapted shapes, grout lines included.
Figma Storytelling
Machine-arm lettering in marker for Figma's blog. The article highlighted the benefits of centering storytelling in your career.
F.Old (Corita Kent)
A plunder-core lettering set ripped from an old specimen, the source photo in fold of the book creating a skewed plane reminiscent of Corita Kent's re-traced projections. This produces a downward sloping effect and natural scale shifting that reproduce an 'off' feeling within the final type. The "full" character set and punctuation is created using hacked-up elements from existing forms on the page.
Current Joys
Spray lettering for Current Joys, unused. --Ernest Hemingway

Interview, Misc.
Lots of misc lettering for Interview Magazine headlines, 2018-2024. While I am including the rough sheets here for interest, the applied lettering can be found and viewed HERE.
Mais
Another graphic designer's attempt to digitize Godard's hand-cut title typography. My version combines the classic letterforms with eurostile-esque alternates to produce a mishmash of eras and iconique stylings. Produced more as an early attempt at learning glyphs, it nonetheless has some charms, especially when digitally downrezzed.
